How do you get paint off of trim that is on your wall. It is wood and I don't want to sand down the whole thing and reshellac it.

  • I would go to a paint store like sherwin williams and ask them if they have anything special to remove the paint safely

  • "Goo be gone" will do the trick or "Goof Off".

  • so the trim is finished? what kind of paint was it? if it was latex paint then you could just do it with hot soapy water and a scrubber sponge.

  • Fingernail. Some paints will come off putty-like, some will scrape off, but if you use your fingernail it won't damage the wood and will get the paint off. I've done it myself many times.
