  • That's been a problem. Sneaking things in. A little bit of something here and a little bit of something there and it all adds up in the long run. It's like my kids trying to sneak a candy bar or toy into the shopping cart when I have a full cart of groceries.

  • Pretty much! I mean, why not pass a bill that contains ONLY information related to the title of said bill? Why "sneak in" things that have nothing to do with the bill? If ear marks have any real merit they should stand alone! :o)

  • At this time, in this climate of out of control spending, "vote" buying, and need for reform...............yes. Which means, my state gets none either. Plus, I am also against omnibus bills. They are too easy to sneak anything and everything in which means to get, say, the defense budget you have to agree to XYZ.

  • Yes. One of the problems~ the definition of earmark appears to be different things to different politicians and even between politicians and the American People. I think we need to take slow methodical steps to REAL reform of our Federal government. Cut earmarks. Cut waste in government programs, possibly even cut a few programs. There are NOT enough wage earners to fund the massive Federal spending and growing dependency on Federal funds.
