  • He should let his chain of command know what's going on. His chain of command may or may not require a special request chit. Piece of advice from someone who was in for 12 years? The recruiter is only a recruiter and all he cares about is getting that quota filled. Once they leave for boot camp, they are technically out of the recruiter's hands. He may not tell you this outright, but just store that for the future.

  • He needs to let his chain of command know, in normal circumstances anyway. Since he's graduating basic training and will be between duty stations it will be a little sketchy on who he would have to notify. Just be sure that the day after you file your marriage certificate he gets you signed up in DEERS and Tricare so that you can be command sponsored and will be able to join him at his first permanent duty station. You won't be able to join him while he's in schooling, but as soon as he graduates the school you will be able to.

  • No he does not need permission. But like rhianna said he will need to let his chain of command know so that you two can get all the benefits.
