1st period after having baby!

OMG! My baby is 6 weeks old. I had a c-section. My bleeding stopped within a few weeks. now I have my first period and it is HEAVY! Holy Cow! My normal periods were light lasting 2 maybe 3 days. I haven't had a period like this since I was a teenager. Did this happen to you?

  • Yes, I didn't start my period until 5 months after giving birth, but it is definately heavier than before. I think there is just a adjustment period (no pun intended) for your body after pregnancy/labor (hopefully).

  • this happened to me too... I had my c-section and bled for 6 weeks and then went 3 months with out it and then when it came it was aweful, wicked bad cramps, big blood clots... It scared me so I called my OB and they told me that it was perfectly normal

  • Yeah, don't expect anything normal for a while, like 6 months to a year.
