  • Keep active. I worked until 9 days before I had my daughter and she was only 8 #'sWatch all carbs they are sugar also and don't eat a whole bagel baaaaaddd for you. Good Luck you'll be fine

  • Watch carbs, as PP had said. Also, keep an eye on the 'hidden' sugars. A banana has a lot of sugar, do not eat a whole one in a single sitting. One banana is actually 2 servings. Make sure you know what veggies are actually carbs. Peas and corn are actually carbs, be careful when eating those. Sometimes milk can spike your sugars. Just test your blood regulary, chart what you eat and take note of how what you eat affects your blood sugars. If you note that it is higher than normal, you know what you may need to limit in the future. I had GD with both of my pregnancies. Neither one was over 7 lbs.

  • Exercise is very helpful in keeping your sugar levels stable. I had gestational diabetes 4 times (out of 5 pregnancies)- my biggest baby (8 lbs 9 oz) was the one I DIDN'T have gestational diabetes with!

  • Taking a walk every day should help. I had big babies & I ididnt have gestational diabetes. Esp my first 3 . 9 -6, 9 & 10-2. When I was preg with my fourth I was afraid theyd be bigger but luckily they went down & my last was 7-14. : ) Good luck!
