Traditional Holiday Gifts?

Growing up, my mom, sister, and I always got Christmas pj's. Mom would make sure that we opened THOSE gifts on the Eve so that we had something nice and warm to sleep in the night before.

  • we had that, too! and crazy houseshoes. with three girls, they usually all matched, except for sizes/colors. or we might get a pair of three different colors, of course, so there'd be no fighting.
i always ask for thick, cozy socks..and everyone thinks i'm joking, so no one gets me socks! i have to buy my own. :(( LOL!

  • Me too! My daughter is already getting pajamas from both her grandmother and me. Also, I've started a hippo trend where my daughter gets something hippopotamus for Christmas.

  • My parents did that for me and I do it for my son. He gets PJ's and new slippers on Christmas eve.
My parents used to also buy me a new coat and give it to me on Christmas eve before we went to Church.

  • I am planning on doing this with my daughter, though I don't know which stuffie trend to start with her. Her favorite changes more often than her undies, so it's hard to figure out what to get for her sometimes as well as what she won't grow out of (like Dora; she loves Dora, but she won't love Dora forever).

  • I always give my son an ornament so when he moves out someday he'll have his own set. He also gets a book, usually in his stocking.
My Gram used to get all the great grandkids pjs.
