How Late are the Polls Open on Nov 4th.

My Hubby and I just realized that he has to work from 5 am till 8 pm On Nov 4th.... He works underground in a Coal Mine and has no way to leave to vote.....Does anyone know How late the polls are open? Does it vary from State to State? I know it is to late for an absentee ballot....any other Ideas?

  • Most, if not all, states REQUIRE that empoyers give employees time off to vote during the voting day IF the polls are not opened at least an hour after the employee gets off of work. You need to check your states laws and he needs to talk to his boss on Monday. He can choose to make waves on his own or he can call the state election board and report his employer.
