How can I tell?

How can I tell the difference between a carving pumpkin and a pie pumpkin? Assuming that there are no stickers or anything to tell me.

  • I've always backed with the carving pumpkins after Halloween was over. What you taste is mostly the spice, so I don't see the difference in pies and cakes...

  • Well, there should be a sign or sticker or something but, sometimes that isn't the case. I think pumpkins that can be used for baking are smaller and the pumpkins meant to be carved are big.

  • Just don't throw the seeds in the compost pile! My sister did that one year and got a garden FULL of pumpkin plants!!! Like somewhere around 2,000 starts! LMAO

  • Yeah, I'd roast the seeds instead of throwing them away.
