Never thought *I* would be posting a "could I be pregnant" question... adult content

But, I feel like someone might have some valuable input here. I have only had two periods since lactational amenorrhea ended (my time of no aunt flo due to breastfeeding), and we had sex around ovulation time. Anyway, no period this month, due around the first, but I took a test (clearblue digital) two days ago with a negative result. Should I test again? See a doctor? Chock it up to my menstrual cycle not yet having regulated itself?

  • I would...

    A) Get a different brand test because those have a high falso negative rate because they require a MUCH higher level of HCG then most other test.

    B) Wait a week...If no AF then take another test.

    C) If the test is still negative then I would chalk it up to hormones.

If you still have a feeling that you might be pregnant make an appointment with your midwife or OBGYN for a blood test. Good Luck!

  • Retest in a week, if it is negative and no period yet, yes at the moment I would chalk it up to hormones out of whack :)

  • I agree, give it a week or so, then retest. Certainly don't waste time and energy on lots of testing when it's probably your period just being messed up. If no period in another month, I'd call your GYN.

  • Personally, I would take another test in a few days. If it comes out negative, then I would just wait until next month. If you miss TOM again (Time Of Month), then I would take another test. If that one comes up negative, then I would call the doctor.

About 1 or 2 times a year, I get what my Doctor calls a 'silent period'. He told me to take a test and if it comes up negative, to wait until the next month. If I miss again and still get a negative test, to call him.

  • I'd get like 3 EPT's and take one every 3 days in the morning with your first pee. If those all turn out neg and aunt flo hasn't arrived, then go get a blood test.
