What is your favorite way to cook salmon?

I'm tired of the same old recipe that I use. I mix olive oil, lemon juice, pepper, salt, garlic, worcestershire sauce to use as a marinade and then grill or bake it. But I want to try something else.

  • Have you tried cooking on cedar planks? I like to cook mine on a George Foreman like griddle after marinading. I prefer a smokey sweet seasoning or marinade. Maybe you could also try a honey mustard? Or a wasabi rub and just sear it. Then serve on a bed of greens with an Asian dressing.

  • I buy the fozen salmon steaks. I put them frozen into a pan lined with foil. I sprinkle with olive oil and Emerald's Essence seasoning, close the foil around it and bake. Thaws and bakes all in the oven. I like to over cook it. I just like it dry.
    Ingredients of Essence
    2 1/2 tablespoons paprika
    2 tablespoons salt
    2 tablespoons garlic powder
    1 tablespoon black pepper
    1 tablespoon onion powder
    1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
    1 tablespoon dried oregano
    1 tablespoon dried thyme
    Combine all ingredients thoroughly.

  • I use butter (real butter), basil, and lemon juice and brush it on the salmon and broil for about 5-7 min, flip and repeat. Before I put it in the oven I sprinkle it with a little thyme.

  • I like salmon burgers. The beauty of the burgers is you can season them with flavors you really enjoy with your salmon.

  • Grilled Teriyaki Salmon
1 1/2 lbs fresh salmon fillets (skin removed)
    1/3 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup brown sugar, packed (use only brown sugar)
    1/3 cup water
    1 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
    1/2 cup vegetable oil
    1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
2 green onions (chopped into large pieces)
3-4 fresh garlic cloves (sliced in half or use as much as desired)
1 1/2 teaspoons lemon pepper (more for seasoning)In a bowl mix together together soy sauce, brown sugar, water, Worcestershire sauce, oil, ginger and lemon pepper; whisk until no sugar granules remain (this might take a couple of minutes) add in garlic halves and green onion. Wash the salmon under cold water then pat dry using paper towels.Place the salmon into a long deep glass dish (or use a large resealable plastic freeze bag) then pour the marinade over; turn salmon to coat in the marinade. Refrigerate for 3-6 hours (turning occasionally).
