Have you thought about what your childs initials will be?

If my baby is a boy I want to name him Hayden. I wanted to honor my father as well by giving him the middle name Michael. Problem? His initials would be HMO. What do you think?

  • Yes, we considered the initials, but none of our children really have initials that say anything. I'm Due in December with a little girl her name will be either Sophia Alice Bowen or Natalya Alice Bowen - So either SAB or NAB, but the boys don't have anything even close to a word... ACB & HLB... We considered the initials, but just to make sure they didn't spell something dirty.

As for the HMO, I don't see the issue with that, Hell, once the new healthcare bill goes through, no one will know what an HMO is...

  • There isn't an issue with that. It's just initials, hun :) if you are uncomfortable about it .. why don't you call him Michael Hayden but call him Hayden. If we have a girl, her name will be Sylvana Kaidence Youngs = SKY :)

  • It is important to think of the initials, but the only time I would change them would be if it was KKK or something really bad. I think HMO is fine. Those acronyms might not even be used when he is grown. My grandaughter's initials are CAT, and she asked that it be her nickname, but her name is Catherine, so it works out fine.

  • my oldest is ABS and my youngest is DOW...i considered the initials, but just to make sure it wasnt anything crazy...i think HMO is fine...any kids that would ever tease him wouldnt even know what an HMO was.

  • I considered it because until I married mine were CAN. My baby half sister is RAT. My kids are ZRS and AMS. Most people don't know your middle name or at least kids and school etc. No one ever realized my initials spelled CAN until I mentioned it growing up.

  • I don't really care what my kid's initials spell. That's not their name and it doesn't say who they are. And I know some people say "well they'll get picked on!" Um, if they don't get picked on because of their initials, some cruel kid will find something else to pick on them about. My daughter's intials are SAR, which is really close to SARS.
