HOW DO YOU CLEAN A TIE WITHOUT SENDING IT TO THE DRYCLEANERS?

  • put it in a sock and wash it

  • If it's Polyester, just wash it in the sink with warm water & a little dish soap. If it's Silk then don't even try, it will shrink to nothing & get very wrinkled and won't iron out. So check out the fabric content.

  • If it can't go in the machine, I hand wash in cool water. The only stuff that I'd send to the cleaners is leather or suede, and I don't have any of those (except shoes and accessories) anymore.
