high risk DS result? advice please!

Has anyone taken the down syndrome blood screening test that came back as "high risk"? I'm 24, healthy, and expecting my first baby in April. I was shocked to hear this news, should I be worried? Has anyone had a "high risk" result who still had a healthy baby?

  • i wouldnt worry, i know its hard not too, and you prob will anyways, but i have read about those tests and its actually pretty common for them to come back possitive or high risk and have nothing wrong with the baby. good luck in this scary time and congrats on being a mommy

  • Those prenatal tests have a very high false positive rate. I didn't have any prenatal testing but my oldest does have Down syndrome, I know that's a hard thing to potentially face, if you need to talk or have questions you'd like answered feel free to send me a message =)
