  • A lot of people think legalized and regulated sex workers would help them be safer at work. Many are beaten and abused. They can't go to the cops and say, "I was turning a trick and this guy beat my face in." but if it were a legitimate business deal, they could. Doesn't make prostitution a good career path, but the market will always be there.

I have a billion laws I would change

  • I'd "legalize" (or have the gov't recognize) same sex marriage.

If that won't work, then I think I agree with legalizing prostitution. If its better regulated and taxed it would help the workers be safer and healthier, eliminate pimps, and help the economy. I know I still wouldn't be happy if my husband were to go to one, but I don't want him going to strippers or watching porn either and their legal - and what other people do is their business. I don't believe that the gov't should tell people what they can do with their bodies or why, especially when sleeping around is legal. If two people consent to sexual relations for money, I don't see how it should involve anyone else, or how they should be accountable to anyone else, unless there's an angry spouse at home, lol.
