Have you noticed our "anon" improvements?

We made a couple of small changes yesterday:

1) All users (even those who haven't unlocked the ability to answer anonymously yet) can comment on their own anonymous questions without revealing their screen names.

2) You can no longer answer your own question pretending to be someone else. (Some people used to ask an anonymous question and then answer with their actual screen name as if they were a different person.)

If you have any questions or notice any bugs, just let us know. Thanks!

  • I noticed that you can't answer own questions Anon, as well. I noticed the little box was gone.

So you can't ask as yourself, then respond to someone's response as an Anon, thus hiding the fact that it is the OP.

  • But if you ask a question as anon, can you answer your question as anon original poster?

  • I haven't tried it so I might just be confused. Too early and not enough coffee. Anyone got a screen shot of how this works?

  • I noticed something... the anon question asker, when responding in their thread as OP should be able to delete their responses the same as in non-anon questions.

  • aw Iiked being able to answer in anon to my own threads, it allowed the thumbs up/down feature and see who agreed with me or not. I liked that. When you didn't use anon the thumbs weren't there, so you didn't know if people even read it.

  • @isabellalecour: Yes -- comments by the question asked should now always be labeled as such.

@Anonymous: That's a bug, and we'll get it fixed. Thanks for pointing it out!
