  • Sometimes bedrest is the best medicine to keep you and the baby healthy. The doctors don't know if labor is imminent after you get off of bedrest. I know it sucks!

  • the point I'm guessing is to stop you from having a baby 5 months early, in which case the baby may die

  • they wait because induction should not be something done out of convenience. and yea, she had a 3 year old to take care of too. no i have never been on bedrest but i saw what it's like with her. her husband was overseas all during this too, she had nobody but her mother in law to help her, who wasn't much help either. just because they took her off bedrest a week before her due date doesnt mean they were automatically going to induce her. you should wait til your body is ready and let it go into labor itself, not ask for induction the day you get off bedrest. you are opening yourself up to so much more complications and risks by doing that. im sorry that you are in this situation.

  • no, my friend went on bedrest around 20 weeks and was taken off a week before her due date, her baby came a week late. the medicines and bedrest are meant to stop you from having that baby too early, and there's nothing wrong with your body pausing after you get off and waiting til it and your baby is ready.

  • and actually, her bedrest was due to lowlying placenta. she was waiting and waiting to go into labor after her doctor gave her the okay not to be on bedrest anymore, went past her due date, and woke up to a pool of a blood one late night. turns out her placenta abrupted and she had to have an emergency c-section, with her baby only have a 1% chance of survival. luckily they both made it out okay, but i think the doctor who gave her the okay made a stupid move on his part. she should've stayed on bedrest or been watched much more carefully and that whole mess could have been avoided!

  • why would they wait til past due date if the baby is ok. they can check to see if he is ready or not.. she shouldnt have to stay on bedrest or have been watched. she can be induced to go ahead and get the baby out healthy. and i know what the bedrest was for.. the 5 months of it but after you come off, it should be withhin the next week or so... btw if you havent been on bedrest i dont need the smart remarks.. you do not know the half of it.. especially when you have a 2 year old who constantly wants to play and a house that has to be cleaned and no sleep. constant pain from laying around all the time plus all the extra pains.. just ready for him to be here
