What were the big issues in your area when voteing?

Mine was if we would get slots near a local mall. It went through.

  • Locally, pension reform for law enforcement. TWO measures, one fronted by the deputies which would have left all decisions on changes to their plans up to the voters. Competing version from the county supervisors which would have given the supes power to DECREASE pensions, but requires voter approval for INCREASES. *Both* measures passed but the supes' measure got more votes and becomes law... unless there's litigation.

  • an education prop that would have made our state have to fund education as much as the states around us. there was no plan as to where that money would come from, so it failed. which i made me glad cause my DH's work was one of the areas that woulda lost funding. hopefully they will try it again with a little more planning as to where the money will come from cause my state has horrible education stats.
