Has anyone ever had a kid put a tooth all the way through their lip??

So my brilliant son fell off the bed this morning and put one of his teeth all the way through his lower lip. It's pretty nasty looking but I don't know if this is something that needs stitches or if it is safe to let it go on it's own?

  • I have 2 sons ages 14yrs and 21yrs. BOTH of them did it while they were little! It's horrible! The Drs. did not stitch up either kid, they said it was more likel to get infected if it was closed up. With the youngest, I was directed to do saline rinses 3-4 times a day, and he was also put on antibiotics. Good luck, kids are great aren't they!?

  • My husband had to have stitches in side and out. BUT he had several teeth go thru (Caught a baseball in his mouth).
