Nasty blister/sore on my 16 yr/o inner lip

My daughter has braces and doesnt know how she got these blisters, theres two in which look like the inprints of her braces. For the last two days she has had a fever and a sore throat. These blisters are making her top lip really swollen. Sorry for (TMI) but their a green-ish white-ish in color. Also she has a little sore not real bad or painful on the outside of her top lip, and an other formed today on the inside bottom lip. Im not sure what they are but i am worried. We've been rinsing it with warm salt water. Any idea what this could be and what to do to get rid of it?

  • i would definately get her to a doctor...not to freak you out too much but it COULD be a strain of herpes. if it is, she could have even gotten it from kissing, it doesnt necessarily mean she's be giving oral sex so dont panic about that either. it very well could be something else though...either way get her to the doc asap! with her running a fever, it may be becoming a very serious infection,

  • Sounds like a cold sore/fever blister. Get her Abreva. Because her inner lips are raw from the braces its likely that shes easily spreading it to herself. Cold sores/fever blisters are very common. Nothing to worry about but just to calm your mind take her in to get looked at.

  • take her to the doctors, you can get and STD from kissing (open mouth) if the other person has it in there mouth. It coutd just be something to do with the braces, but is sounds like a problem.

  • it sounds like herpes/coldsore/fever blister... most people get them as young children when they are kissed by an adult who carries the virus. i don't personally like abreva, but i use carmex for cold sores to keep them from getting dry and bleeding. her pediatrican can also give her some medicine to heal it quicker...

  • I definitely would get it checked out. It might even be a metal allergy? Whatever it is it sounds like it's turning into something nasty, you need to get her in to a Dr. NOW!

  • Sounds like something that is infected. Cold sores/fever blisters are not green. Take her to a doctor or walkin clinic and find out what is wrong.

  • Go to a doctor so they can tell you what they are & get the right medication for it don't guess what they are. When a person runs a fever there are things called fever blisters & you really need to see a doctor to get the medication for them.
