Is it appropriate to spank a baby...

that is just starting to pull herself on things to stand up when she knocks things over all the time in the process?

Question is for spankers & non-spankers alike? How would you deal with this?

  • I spank, but not a child that young. Keep a better eye on her, tell her no or move the stuff.

  • No, because nothing she does at this point is intentinal. Redirect her attention to toys, or find things that are safe for her to climb on.

  • No. Redirect.

  • No to spanking. It is better to move things up and out of the way and to redirect baby.

  • You need to baby proof your home. What ever you don't want knocked down move out of reach. I do not believe you should spank a baby!

  • No. Baby proof and move things she may knock over. Give her appropriate toys or not sharp furniture for her to use to pull herself up.

  • A baby won't understand spanking. Yes, inappropriate. Not that I ever think it is, but especially for a baby.

  • its heartbreaking to think someone would spank a baby for doing things they have no idea are wrong...they are exploring their world...they would have NO IDEA why you all of a sudden caused them pain while they were just having fun...makes me sad to think of it
