I heard

I heard hairspray keeps lice from getting in the hair is this true and if so how much hairspray do you need for this to be affective. my daughter started head start and my mom tells me this is lice season?? eww

  • It's true. Lice like clean hair. Gel and sprays can help keep them away. Also add Tea Tree oil to shampoo. It's not a cure, but it can help.

  • I bought it at GNC. I added around 30 drops to the bottle of shampoo. It's very potent. There is also tea tree oil shampoo sold there.

  • Lice also like dirty people which is why it keep spreading. My former neighbors kids always had lice & they were nasty ppl.

  • Having lice has nothing to do with being "dirty people". In fact they prefer clean hair. Anyone can get it. They are very hard to get rid of. Good for you for trying to be preventative.

  • I KNOW clean people get it..but yes it continues to thrive BECAUSE of dirty conditions SOME WHERE.

  • actually, african americans rarely get lice b/c they use gel and products in their hair at all times! It is true!

  • my girls use a special shampoo and spray during the school year, so far it seems to have worked. cvs sells one kind, i use the fairy tales one
