  • soup, mashed pts, noodles, jello, fish, carrot, peas, bread, anything soft would work. If even in doubt with meal ideas get some of the kids ensure drinks to make up for the lost meals. Come in lots of flavors and can put in frid and make cold which will help as well. my kid love them.

  • Tonsillectomy food do's and don'ts

According to what I'm reading it's just soft soothing foods.

  • Whatever you give, make sure it's fairly low acid.

When I had my tonsils out, the nurse thought she was nice bringing me a juice pop - too bad it was LEMON! Lemon juice + new stitches = howling 5 year old!

Natural applesauce, homemade smoothies, yogurt, frozen fruit (my mom sliced bananas and froze the slices), homemade pudding, gelatin, mashed potatoes, soft cooked veggies.

Really, anything soft, with a fairly low acid content and not spicy will work.

  • appleauce, ice cream, cold things are best. My son is having his tonsils removed next month and we have the list of food for him.
