decorating ideas

Does anyone have any ideas on decorating a tiny studio without damaging anything? My husband and I are on the lower income end of things so we are forced into a tiny studio with our son but I still want to make it home.

  • For small spaces a few nice pieces of furniture that are low and double as storage in sleek modern lines. No more than 3 colors to a room and hopefully all the rooms connect through those 3 colors. Simple arrangements of wall art continuing frame colors through the home, (spray paint). A few special decorative pieces instead of a bunch of nic-nacs. Flowers, candles and a bowl of fruit. If you keep it simple the zen will come!

  • Cheap mirrors on the walls make a space look bigger. Framed family photos on the walls as well. Fun colored pillows-you can make them yourselve with either fabric remanants or even large cloth napkins-no sewing even. Just get an old pillow, place pillow in center of fabric, bring corners up & tie.

  • Some cut flowers really warm and pretty your place up, in a cheap vase or even a bottle that's been washed out. Use boxes for end tables with stuff stored in them for extra storage, and put on a cloth or scarf over it. Open windows on nice days to air it out and keep it fresh, not stuffy. Pack away knick knacks that can clutter small spaces. Use under the bed storage. Make it your own by using the things to decorate that bring a smile to your face.
