  • fruit and cheese plate, yogurt --look at the ingredients though. Most touted for children are loaded with sugar, as well as food coloring. Peanut butter or nutella sandwiches --again, look at the ingredients. Make your own lunchables type meals with small piece of deli meat and cheese and some whole grain crackers.

  • Fruti is loaded with sugar but the good kind. I don't see why kids need high protein foods? They need lots of carbs and plenty of fat. Easy snacks..mash some avocado up add some chives and red pepper and that can go on rye crackers or wrapped in romaine lettuce leaves.

Fruit in any form is a great snack - or you could try mixing different fruits. 1 date, 1 banana and 1 apple blended makes a nice porridge.

  • My son (almost 3) loves to eat black beans. Also, hummus is a good source of protien. You can spread it on crackers or use it as dip for carrot sticks, etc.
