should I put them in time out?

Is it ok to give my kids a time out if Dad allows the behavior?

To prevent the kids from distroying everything in my bedroom Dh and I agreed on the rule No kids in the parents bedroom.

When dh is at work I can manage to keep them out. When dh is home, even with him in there on the the computer they all go in and out pulling things off shelves, break stuff etc.

Would it be wrong of me to put a kid in time out when they do this even though dh, though his non-actions seems to be saying it's allowed?

  • You might be giving them mixed signals that won't get you anywhere.

  • First of all you need to get your husband on the same page as you with regards to what behavior is right and what is not allowed. Then yes, put them in time out. Husband too. (j/k with that one, but it has to be frustrating for you)
