What kind of 3 year old says this!?

I was in the Metro store paying my bill. I turned around and DD (3 in DEc) was heading towards the gumball machine. I said 'No' She turns around crosses her arms and shouts' Mommy! You HATE me!' Everyone in the store cracked up! It doesn't help that she is tiny. So big words form the exceptionally small body... Anyway this lady says to me that she sounds just like her daughter...who is FOURTEEN! lol. What is wrong wit my toddler! :0) Am I gonna be in trouble in a few years? (BTW we did talk about how what she said wasn't nice and next time it would be a time out)

  • I would have laughed if I were there, I mean as long as it wasn't mine saying it! Sorry, hate is a bad word in my house too. We teach them that it's okay to not like things but hate is very strong! With that said, it still gets said in my house!

  • Who knows?!?! She's a toddler. They say off the wall things all the time. I would have loved to have been there to see that. Too funny!

  • I don't even know where she picked up the word hate. It is a no-no word at this house.

  • my 3 yr old dtr is like that to. I have to tell her I'm the mommy and when she gets to be the mommy she can make the rules!

  • My children have said that when they are angry or upset, despite the fact that they know it's not a nice word, and have advised others not to use it. It happens.
