Nook/Kindle benefits of 3G?

Hubby is getting me an E-reader for Christmas and I haven't decided which one or whether to pay the $50 more for the 3G. Besides being able to search for books outside of a Wifi area, is there any benefit to having the 3G? I am mostly at home where I have internet, so I don't know that I really need to pay more. Additionally, I have read about visiting the online library to check books out, you can do this with or without the 3G right? Thanks!

  • If you're mostly at home, I wouldn't worry about going for the 3G.

  • I just bought a Kindle for my daughter and opted to buy the cheaper (non 3G) version; she'll mostly use it at home and would have no need for the 3G.
