What does your vegan Thanksgiving dinner include?

Traditionally the turkey and ham have been the stars of our holiday meals. Now what?

  • I'm not vegan or even vegetarian but, I could TOTALLY just do sides :) And Jessica if she's your close friend hook her up with something more than mashed potatoes, green bean cassarole & yams! lol

I hear seitan is supposed to be a yummy meat substitute so that would probably go well with gravy as a turkey-esque entree.

  • When I was vegetarian (not full vegan mind you ) my parents were not. I would eat all the side dishes! My mom made my favorite pan dressing with vegetable broth instead of chicken, I had yams, potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce... I just ate all the trimmings! I will be interested to see the other answers to this question.

  • Wow good question. I don't think there's a single vegan item on our Thanksgiving menu lol. One of my closest friends is vegetarian (not vegan though) and she always comes to our house since her family doesn't really celebrate Thanksgiving, and she ends up mostly just eating mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, and sweet potatoes lol.

  • I don't do Thanksgiving dinner, but I do do the Christmas dinners and my sister is a veggin,
So I am making a veggie lasagna and a 3 meat lasagna alone with a ham and the trimmings...
Tossed Salads with all kinds of fresh veggies is a big hit here too...
We also do large veggie trays with a dipp...

  • I decided to look some stuff up. This site has some very yummy sounding holiday dishes!! Think a veggie loaf with some mushroom gravy (gravy is athnaksgiving staple IMO)and potatoes yams cranberry sauce stuffing... Yum. I would come over for any of that!! The red cabbage and cranberry side dish sounds awesome to!!  I saw a recipie for winter squash au gratin at another site that used coconut milk and it sounded yum to!!
