  • Puppy pads. Start teaching him to pee in a certain spot then slowly move the pads closer to the door and then outside.

  • When you find something that works, let me know. My abused little dog goes out the doggie door all the time. He never poops in the house but some times he pees on my trash can which is right beside his doggie door. Then turns around and comes back into the room. Why????? he's so close.

  • Yeah, I'd beat it too. Eventually, it'd get tired of getting hit :/

  • I agree with dancer. Make sure to take it outside frequently, and lavishly award it whenever it does anything outside. For inside, whenever you're not around, confine it in a small area (ideally a place with tiles or linoleum), and put down puppy pads. Whatever you do, don't ever EVER punish it, especially if it's an abused puppy to begin with. And for those of you who say to beat it, you're assholes. Not funny.

  • Why not get a dog house and put the dog outside? Really if its been abused its going to keep going potty in the house! That or buy a steam cleaner and keep cleaning after it! Have you tried a water bottle full of Ice water to spray him whe he does this? confused
