  • YES! A shallow one anyways. It's common for women to take herbal baths to help with the healing process through the following weeks.

  • My nurses ran baths for me and urged me to sit in them already the day after - but no soap/bubble bath in the water, just plain clean water. It helps the healing process, and helps ease the aches & pains. I was told to sit in a warm bath as often as I needed once I went home, too.

  • They actually put me in sitz baths while I was still in the hospital. They said it helped to heal my episiotomy and ease the itching from the healing. They sent me home with instructions to take at least one epsom salt bath per day.

  • Why would a bath be a bad thing after birth? What about all those people who opt for a water birth? Now I'm really confused!
