  • it can be a good thing to boost self esteem or it can be a bad thing very competative but every sport is competative. if its just for fun why not. take a very shy little girl and it can be very useful. it depends.

  • I think it depends on the child, the contest, and the amount of pressure that is put on the child. If your kid is old enough to tell you rather or not they want to do them.

  • It depends on the amount of pressure and expectations you put on the child. If they are having fun, and you arent being a stage mom, why would it be harmful. But when it crosses the line, and the kids arent happy doing it but mom pushes them, its harmful.

  • Yes to me Beauty Contest are harmful because deep down you want to be prettier then the next person and sometime that cant always happen.

  • I think they are harmful. I would not put one of my kids in Beauty Contests unless it was something they, themselves came to me saying they wanted to be involved in. And at that point, I would probably still be very skeptical.
