Do you prefer spending Thanksgiving with your immediate family or with every relative you know?

I enjoy spending the holiday with just my DH and our children and their SO's. We quit attending the big family Thanksgiving about 6 years ago when it seemed like all we did was spend the holiday traveling. We now actually enjoy the holiday.

  • The more the merrier. I only see all my family on major holidays so I enjoy it.

  • Both sides of our families are small... but I would honestly rather spend all Holidays home with just the 3 of us..
but we spend Thanksgiving with his mother and sister at MIL's home and Christmas is always here at our home
1 week before Christmas day... Christmas day is just the 3 of us...

  • there are certian people I enjoy spending it with.. some immediate, some not so immediate..

but we have a small family..

this year it'll be my parents, my brother, me, my daughter, my uncle, my grandfather, and my aunt for sure...

that's all that's really available. We aren't on speaking terms with my mom's sister and her family (who use to come with her husband and kids), and my mom's other brother lives over seas with his family..
my dad's family lives farther away and is larger, but we always had thanksgiving with mom's family, so they have their thing, we have ours. lol.

  • Our family is small and lives quite widely spaced so getting us all together is not doable.

Thanksgiving is not my favorite holiday so Im cool just hanging with my husband and kids. Although this year we will be going and having it with my mom and grandmother and thats fine. Not too many and wont have to be there forever and a day either LOL.

  • I like to go one place only. No fun dragging kids around. I prefer being with my mom and sisters. They are better cooks. lol

  • Well, my parents live far and they come up for Christmas, so we don't see them on Thanksgiving. We spend it with my sister and her family and my in-laws.
