Do you think your family eats healthy, or are there changes you could make?

Does your family make it difficult to always eat healthy? For example, does your husband hate vegetables? Do your kids bug you for sweets?

  • When I cook they eat pretty healthy. I have an insatiable sweet tooth and am trying, albeit unsuccessfully, to cut back on Coke. If I cook from scratch, they eat good. They know when I am cooking out of a box because they won't touch it. My family loves it when I am in the PMS phase because I go on a baking kick. We don't eat much fast food or eat out much though.

  • Well all in all I guess we are not too bad, Theres Me, DH (27) DS (1 1/2) and DD (3 mos) DH and DS LOVE fruits and veggies, and thats usually what they snack on, and we ALWAYS have at least a four corse meal, like Hamburger helper with green beans and corn and some bread and butter. Thats our "Norm" But I love variety so I try to always come up with something different.. DS is so healthy, I love it.. He has OJ for breakfast, water/juice for lunch and snack and ALWAYS wants milk for supper. He's got good habbits lol. =)

  • my kids are pretty awesome about eating well when their grandparents aren't around.. but now that we are forced to live here, nothing but junk and fried food and it's pissing me off.

  • Overall I'd say we do pretty good, plenty of fruits, veggies, water & whole grains with limited sweets.

  • My family eats pretty healthy, we aren't completely strict. For example: we eat spinach pizza, organic meat, eggs, milk, but we also like our candy just keep it as a treat. What could we do better? Be vegan and focus on raw foods.

  • We could improve & are making small changes right now!
    Usually we have 1 meat 2 veggies for dinner & sometimes a bread.. I cook alot of chicken or turkey meat (instead of hamburger meat)... We eat out a bit for dinner when i forget to thaw or need to visit store which is horrible, but like i said we are trying to change that..

    For breakfast we have cereal or oatmeal (sometimes with fruits) or eggs, bacon, toast. For lunch me & dd usually eat PBJ (natural peanut butter, whole wheat bread-helps make it a bit better... right!?)..

    DD is REALLY picky! I do not know what to do with her! She is 4yo.. Many nights she wont like anything on her plate :-(
    DH is really picky too, but as long as u have enough meat he will survive. but he is trying to eat healthier. :-)
    I am not picky at all. I love healthy food, just hate cooking it! Id cook healthier if i knew how. slowly learning.. very ... slowly!!

  • everyone is willing to eat healthy stuff. i have some stuff i make that is healthy and some stuff that is not so great. if i am making something that is not so great i will balance it with a salad or plenty of fruit or something.
