have u ever seen tlc show where women get pregnant in their 60's?

what do u think of that? isnt there a greater risk for birth defects and down syndrome? i would think so.

  • I don't think anyone participates in online forums because they are looking to mind their own business. That said, I agree that those women a probably not getting pregnant naturally and personally I would adopt...I think. Dh and I have been waiting to conceive and I'm starting to wonder myself what options we have.

  • wow anon. yes i have see some, i love those shows. there is a greater risk but theres always some risk. i think itd be safer for both if they just adopted but you am i do say that. have you seen them? if so do you like them too?

  • I would suspect these ladies are not doing this natrually..due to the fact they are past menopause...which means they are using IVF probably ...which also means they probably arent using their own eggs...which ALSO means they dont have risk of birth defects because they are using younger eggs. The reason birth defect risk goes up is due to the age of the conception products...the eggs. Your not going to have a good chance to adopt at that age so why not just have one of your own! What's the big deal? Tony Randall had a kid when he was like 80 yrs old & nobody cared!
