How long did you wait after birth to get a Tubal Ligation?

  • Almost 6 weeks. thats the waiting time before you can do it, unless you get it righ after birth.

  • A few hours after giving birth.. He was born at 1am and by 7am I was in the OR...

  • At the same time! I had a scheduled c section so they did it them. I do know of some getting it later that day, or the next day after birth though, so you dont always have to wait 6 weeks.

  • FYI: Depending on your OB, you do not have to have a c-section or wait 6 weeks to have a tubal.. You can have it done right after giving birth vaginally.. P.S. I had a vaginal birth.
