Mason Dixon line. So if you live below the Mason Dixon line are you a southerner?

I live in Md and the Mason Dixon line is above me so am I a southerner? I feel like a northerner. My 17 y/o daughter tells me she is a southern girl b/c she likes sweet tea. LOL.
Where your from do you call your self something? Like a Mid-west chick?

  • I would call you a northerner....

I call myself a southerner, I'm from the "deep south" (alabama) oh and drinking sweet tea is only one thing we southern girls like...it goes way beyond that to be "one of us"

  • i live in florida, about as southern as it gets yet somehow people in georgia, alabama, the carolina's and tennessee are MORE southern than we are (with their accents and southern hospitality, people in florida are rude as f**k). i dont get it lol

  • I'm a southerner! Born in Florida.

    Funny thing....when I lived in Ohio from 1980-85....so I was a mid-west chick for 5 years!! LOL

    I had a few new friends ask where I was from...I said,'The south." They said...Kentucky? I said..NO..further south......they said, Tennesee? I said, NO...about as south as you can get......they said..Georgia??....Nope..... South Carolina?...NO...Alabama?......NO...Louisiana? No......Texas?

Out of 5 people......no one said Florida! And HOW they were in college I did not know! LOL

  • I used to live in Maryland and never considered myself a southerner at all. I now live in North Carolina and definitely feel more southern here than anything.

  • At one time I considered myself a mid-western girl, born and raised in ND. But since I've lived in Texas for the better part of 17 years, I like to consider myself a Texan.
