  • My two youngest have a bedtime at 8 pm. They're 6 (1st grade) and 9 (3rd grade) years old, and they need their sleep because they get cranky in the morning since they have to get up around 6 AM to get ready for school. My kids always had a bedtime, which was around 8 PM even when they were much younger.

  • Our kids were in bed between 7 and 7:30 when they were little. It gradually got moved up to 8, then 9. But they never went to bed later than 9 all the way through high school. They never complained. They really needed their sleep.

  • Since they were old enough to understand "bed time" (around a year), it has been between 7:30-8 pm. They are 9,5,3. The time is still the same, unless it is a weekend. Then it is 9.

  • My children are 9, 4, and 2 we usually do reading time from 7 to 7:30 and off to bed after that! Our 9 yr old can stay up in bed until 8 as long as he reads or he can go right to sleep.

  • My son is 13 months now and goes to bed at 8pm sometimes 8:30pm if he took a late nap. I used to lay him down at 7pm, but he started waking up an hour later and wouldn't go bad to sleep. It's nice though, since he sleeps until 7:30 or 8 in the morning.

Sometimes it hard though b/c he is having so much fun playing and I have to be the bad guy that puts him to bed. At least I know he is getting the sleep he needs :)
