  • I believe I have encountered the same thing! Three different pieces of meat- same thing. Both butchers said they have never seen it before-... And both have been butchers/ meat market owners for over 20 years. I posted a similar question here on CafeMom this evening. I am pretty freaked out. Both said they would not eat it!! Wondering what region you are from- I am in Northern Michigan. Would be interesting to see if we are in the same 'area'. I have never seen it before. I am curious if the FDA has mandated new processing procedures or if perhaps irradiated beef is no longer required to be labeled as such. Weird and scary.... will be interesting to see if I can get an answer. I am calling the MSU Extenstion office and the USDA in the morning. Soooo creepy. Free range organic chicken for me tonight, LOL.
