is there a hashbrown casserole recipe that does not include sour cream?

i dont have any sour cream right now.....can i use milk instead or just leave it out or does anyone know of a recipe that doesnt call for it??

  • My friend uses cream of whatever soup, cheese soup, milk and shredded cheese. She does not use sour cream at all. She also crunches up Frosted Flakes and puts that on top for the last 5 minutes. It is yummy!

  • just skip it, or add an extra can of soup instead, or a little milk. i don't always put it in. i do not follow a recipe either though, i just add what sounds good each time.

  • I do
    1 can cream of chicken soup
    1 pack of onion soup mix
    1 8 oz cream cheese (you can substitue another can of soup for it)
    mix everything put it in you cass. dish and sprinkle with cheese

  • I have never heard of a HBC made without Sour Cream. That gives it taste. I make HBC atleast 4x's a month. We love it around here..WE USE FRENCH FRIED ONIONS ON TOP...ummmmm yummy
