3 Bumps

If you only had $5 to spend on food for 3 days, what would you buy?

I would have put this in Just For Fun, but I figured it would get moved.

I would probably buy two loaves of bread, some tuna, and ham/turkey/bologna some kind of lunch meat.

  • Well, that wouldn't be unusual for me ... that's why I shop the day-old baked goods, the reduced produce, and the scratch/dent bins of canned goods every day on my way home.
As for this question, what I would buy would depend on what I found in the places mentioned above!

  • Gotta agree with BluDog. I used to eat on $10 a week. I ate a lot of beans, rice, and eggs. And I shopped at Aldi.

  • I would head to Rancho Liboria (a chain in the west/southwest). I'd get beans bulk (89 cents/lb), rice in bluk (89 cents/lb), onions (3 lbs/.99 this week), garlic (a buck a pound), and eggs. Wouldn't be very exciting of course but we'd stay filled up. :-)
