In libraries, do they put the bible in the fiction or non-fiction section?

  • LOL...I used to be a library aide, and it would probably either be in the religious (non-fiction) section or in the reference. Most likely in the reference. However, I've worked in 3 libraries and I don't actually recall ever seeing one. Maybe they feel it crosses the line between separation and state? Or that they feel too many people would either damage it, or not return it?

  • I've also worked in the public library and they do have Bibles and they're in non-fiction in the religion section which I think is the 100s, it's been a while, I don't remember for sure.

  • And something I found interesting, 800s is literature and you can find some classical fiction there, in the nonfiction section.
