Someone told me...

That touching the cervix can start labor. And I don't mean pushing, or irritating it, but just accidentally touching it. I'm not saying that's far-fetch, but is this true? NO, I am not touching my cervix, I was just wondering if that is real or if it is some medical myth.

  • @ christyg,
    your answer was hilarious!
i think that irritating it to a point can cause labour, but it also depends on how your cervix reacts.

  • I can't see how that can be true!.....When the doctor checks to see if you are dialated, or how much, he has to touch your cervix! And, if it were really true, women wouldn't spend weeks misserable waiting to go into labor..LOL!!!!

  • well what they mean is that touching it and irritating it can actually induce labor. whether you are meaning to or not, touching it can irritate it.
