  • Yes. We have a fairly large compost bin in our garden. We keep a bucket in the kitchen for plant based scraps (we put animal protein in because it will attract rodents and our bin is too small to get hot enough to repel them.) We produce enough for our garden, which is fairly sizable, each summer.

  • Yes, have been for years. I also have a lidded bucket in my kitchen to collect food scraps & trimmings (fruit & veggies only, but no potatoe or citrus peels). I also add dry leaves, grass clippings, crushed eggshells, coffee grounds, tea bags (remove the staples), plant trimmings & weeds that haven't yet gone to seed.

  • I had a beautiful pile of composted soil in the back yard which I had worked on for years. One day I came home to find that my DH had placed his new shed right on top of it. Pissed doen't even come close.

  • I tried it a couple of years ago, but it attracted mice. :-(
