Does the cereal cause constipation in babies? Like the gerber cereals?

Even if you use the barley or oats?

  • It never has for my DD. If it does for your LO, try some fruit with it

  • it can if its there first food you have tried remeber it is a change of diet for them.

  • Infant cereal is a notorious constipator because of the added iron. One of the reasons it's not really a great starter food, except for the fact that it's bland.

    Mak sure baby is being nursed or getting formula before the cereal.

  • It did for my baby girl, and HORRIBLE gas. She was screaming. We ended up skipping cereal and moving straight to stage 1 foods. Check with your ped if this is something you want to do.
