Do you ever wonder how babies think before they know words?

Like I wonder, do they think in pictures... do they see images of our faces, of bottles, of pacifiers, etc. - since they dont know the actual word to think it like we do....
what crazy is that we will never know for sure!

  • I think they think in pictures, emotions and non-verbal sounds... but they know words long before they can say them. Also, if you do sign language with them, it gives them another mode of thinking and of communicating.

I often wonder... how do blind people dream? Like, if you were blind from birth, what would your dreams be like?

  • first they don't really have all that great of vision so i guess they just think about smells, sounds, touch, etc. more than images. that's what i think

  • It depends on where they are developmentally, but they are mostly need driven before they have language skills.
