What do you top your Christmas tree with?

I have a pretty angel that I've had since dh and my first Christmas (aww). It's the only thing I have from the first Christmas. It's wings are made of feathers and they're shedding and almost all gone :-( I want to keep them from falling out. Suggestions?

  • Spray them with a clear laquer to harden them a bit and kind of coat them.

We have a star on top of the tree :)

  • Maybe I can shellac(sp?) them? Will that prevent them from falling out or preserve them without ruining them?

  • Last year, my son decided he wanted Elmo on our Christmas Tree. It was cute, and different.

  • We had our very first tree last year and it didn't have a topper. Sadly our basement flooded and the tree got ruined sot his year we probably won't even have a tree. Though if I ever get back to Ohio I have a really cool angel with fiberoptics and whatnot that someone got me as a birthday gift when I turned 17.

  • my moms tree has a star the same one from when I was a kid. The reason I say my mom is that is where we do Christmas morning. And it is a family event to put her tree up. Our tree at home didnt have a topper, but I found the greatest star, I'm gonna buy it this week (or maybe next if I dont get out) and wrap it for my kids to open, it is pink and has pink glitter, my girls are 8 and 4 months, the 8 yeaaar old will love it....then she will want the tree up!
