Crock pot?

Can you dry cook in a crock pot? I have always put water in it.

  • I've dry roasted in the crock pot - you can even do baked potatoes in there.

  • You can. BUT, i would still put even just a few tbsp of water in there. I sometimes cook roasts in there with no water. Like oven roasts, the kind you dry roast in the oven. I just put a tad bit of water at the bottom to keep it from drying out. Slow cooked it for 5 hours & it was delish!

  • Yes you can. You can bake a chicken by rolling up a few pieces of aluminum foil into balls and then put them on the bottom and a whole chicken, buttered and seasoned on top.
