  • Dark paint is difficult to paint over and I have never seen black carpet. I would paint the walls a nice grey with white trim maybe do a light pink ceiling. Let them chose the carpet. Go online and find bedspeads and accessories in the themes for each DD. Then see if you can find posters which are in their themes. If you cannot find them, then have each girl draw and paint her own poster or pictures and put them all over the walls. You can get black light paint and a black light. The girls will be proud that they could help create their room. By doing this the room will be easy to change when the girls want a new look when they hit 13 or puberty.

  • So, do both.

No one ever said that an 8yo's bedroom needs to be salable to the 'average' buyer --or that it needs to be well decorated. It's their room, why not let them do what they want with it?

Horses all over the ceiling... or drapes... black carpet with pink skull lamps...whatever you can find, really.

Black horses on one pink wall and pink skulls on the black wall...

  • Give them separate sections of the room. You can set up a divider of sorts. Or, is there a color the girls can agree on? If so, paint the room that color and use the pink and black skulls as accents on one side, and horses on the other. That way they both get to express their individuality while not having the room look like a mismash.

  • Haha I guess you are in a bit of a dilema. I would try and make them both happy within reason. Im sure if you ask them to come up with something together they should be able to think of something
