What do You Use to Prevent Dry Lips in the Winter?

I had some of Aveda's lip treatment, it worked great but I lost it. While I wait a week to get the next tube, I need to use something.

What do you use that doesn't have color or shine, and feels good going on? (I hate the feeling of Chapstick.)

  • Carmex (in a tube) is the only thing that really works for me. I don't like Chapstick either.

  • It will have a low lustre for a short time, but olive oil is great for your skin. So is sesame oil (pure, not the blended kind), grapeseed oil (which has the benefit of being totally flavourless) and sweet almond oil.

I do find it matters a lot that I stay well hydrated --when I do, I don't tend to chap at all.

And not licking lips and letting them air dry...

  • i put vaseline on in the morning. It's shiny at first, but last for a good amount of the day and is super cheap.

  • I like Burt's Bees things. You could use cocoa butter cream or Vaseline...

  • Burt's Bees original - has a slight minty tingle but no color and is all natural. Feels so good going on and I rarely use it more than 1x a day! When I used the colored stuff from Avon I had to put it on all day long!
