Why are sound effects and background music louder than the voices on our DVD?

We have watched this movie before, with no issues. But now we can barely hear the talking over the music and sound effects. Is this fixable? What do we do to fix it? This is only the 3rd time this particular DVD has been watched.

  • I know this! I know this! I think.....

It has to do with the way your sound is being processed by the TV/DVD player - have you changed any settings lately? The "surround sound" button/option should be OFF and if you have a setting other than Dolby 5.1, I'd try that. Maybe there's one for 2.0?

The thing is that in Dolby 5.1, the voice is recorded on the .1 and it's softer.

    I hope this works!
